Marie-France Art

Marie-France is a sculptor, principally working in clay as her favourite medium. Her pieces are hand built. She works with slabs of clay gradually building the form to achieve the desired shape. These are then fired in a gas kiln to become her canvas. Oil or acrylic is used to produce the illusion of metal or vibrant colors.

 

At times she goes directly to the clay and creates a figure. At other times she draws an image and use it as her basis for the form. She always likes to let the clay direct her. So in a way she collaborates with the material.

She has a strong interest in the energy of nature and the energy of the body.
